Meet me at the bridge

Living in denial is not really living.
Cross the bridge of reason,
And forgive yourself
And others.
There can be no spiritual profit
In estrangement of natural sisters and brothers.
Insolence and Mr Darcy silence
Is bread of sorrows,
You thirst beside the river of life.
No consideration for a new tomorrow.
I see your state and it is sad.
If you were to meet me half way
Would it be so bad?
I'll put out a table
And two chairs
In the middle of the bridge.
A carafe of sparkling lemon juice
Direct from the fridge.
Two glasses,
From which we can drink to each other
And be without suspicion's care.

"Restless Streets"

Down restless streets I walk alone,
No place really to call my own.
An odd night here, an odd night there.
Then back to the doorway, full of despair.
This can't always be.
I'll have to wait and see.
With blisters on my poor feet,
Off I go again pounding the street.
I thought I'd found the perfect doorway,
But tonight a sign says 'Keep Away',
So off I go again to find a bed.
Some place to lay my weary feet and head.
Half the night has gone and past,
I've actually found a place at last:
A lovely warm bed,
A soft pillow for my head,
For how long I do not know yet,
But I'll try my hardest you can bet.
I've been here two weeks now.
But now I can't pay me rent so I'll have to get out.
I'll get by on a prayer and a song.
