One very important way in which you can help Emmaus Mossley is to donate items which we can then sell.
However, please understand that we are not able to accept everything.
The rule of thumb when deciding whether your donation will be able to be accepted by us is - Will someone be willing to buy it from our shop?
Our shop is central to what we do.
The shop:
• Provides meaningful work for the previously homeless people who live and work at Emmaus,
• Provides the money for the charity to operate without any government grant,
• Extends the life of your donated item, giving someone else the benefit of owning it and diverting it from landfill.
How to donate goods:
You are welcome to bring items for donation to the shop if that is convenient for you. There is a doorway on the yard with a "Donations" sign above.
If you would prefer us to collect larger items we can arrange to pick them up. However, for financial and environmental reasons we cannot justify sending a large van to collect a few small items.
Our van undertakes many collections and deliveries each day five days a week so please be patient. We will pick up your items as soon as is possible.
What we will accept:
• Bric a Brac
• Books
• China
• Clothes
• Curtains

How to arrange to have goods collected:
To arrange a pick-up please telephone 01457 838608/835105 (option 2), or email us with your name, the pick-up address, a contact telephone number and a list of the items.
If you email us, we would use the contact telephone number to come back to you to arrange a collection and to contact you on the day if we encounter any last-minute problems. We offer pick-ups in within an hour long slot on an agreed date in order to try and minimise any disruption to your normal routine and to make the most effective use of our van.
We do not make a charge for our collection service unless you wish us to carry out house clearance where we charge £120 (including vat) for each van load (or part) removed. We will reduce this charge to take account of items that we would in the normal course of events have accepted as donated items and not charged for e.g. if we remove one van load of items and we would have accepted 50% of those items as donated items we will reduce the change to £70.
Examples of fire labels:
The above labels may be found on new furniture which meets the filling requirements and is cigarette resistant. The word 'product' may be substituted for the word 'furniture' on the second side of this label.
The above labels may be found on new furniture which meets the filling requirements and is both cigarette and match resistant.
The above labels may be found on new furniture with a limited range of cover fabrics. The cover fabric is not match resistant, but the furniture has an interliner which passes the specified test. The furniture meets the filling requirements and is cigarette resistant.
